As with all his art, Ron was not satisfied with making new work with old techniques. After honing his skills at woodturning using the approaches of reknowned master woodturners, he started experimenting with decaying wood that otherwise would just rot away or be handled as trash. Seeking the most distressed wood he could find, he worked on developing his own techniques to turn that fragile wood into forms some have labeled masterpieces.
His work has received numerous awards and has been placed in private collections world-wide.
Although his work with wood drew much positive response, Ron decided to tackle a new challenge and a new medium, and that new medium was clay. Once again, not content with the usual, Ron developed new techniques to create the most unusual designs the world of ceramics had ever witnessed.
